As the Chief of Police, I am dedicated to improving the effectiveness of the department within the community and with other agencies working with the Oakwood Village Police Department. I believe cooperation and teamwork will enable the departments’ skills and abilities to achieve community goals to keep the Village of Oakwood a safe and desirable neighborhood. The mission of the OVPD is to always be in compliance with professional standards established by the Oath of Office, Professional Code of Ethics, and directives of this Department, each of its members is to perform in such a manner that promotes the publics’ trust, confidence, and sense of safety and security.
The OVPD is a full-service department which when fully staffed consists of sixteen full-time officers, up to ten part-time officers and seven auxiliary officers. Additionally, the department has two full-time Detectives, a K9 Unit, and a Records Clerk. Our dispatch center has regionalized with Walton Hills Police Department and can be reached at 440-232-1035 for non-emergencies or by dialing 9-1-1.
